Why Not Something Else?
I have many interests that would constitute as a "hobby" of mine, so
out of all of the one's that come to mind, why did I choose chess?
Simple. I choose one at random. Haha...
Seriously, though, chess is a wonderful game and to a beginner it may
just seem like a typical board game, but it has much more depth to it
than many people would possibly imagine! All-in-all, that's what
drove me to select chess as my favorite hobby, currently...
How Is This A Hobby?
I'm sure this is exactly what you were thinking, absolutely no doubt,
whatsoever, at all... Anyways, I would certainly say that chess is a
hobby because for some people it can be an entire career! There are
not many board games that I personally believe would act as a hobby,
more just an addiction, but chess has unique aspects about it such as
being able to actually study theory and strategy pertaining to it. Just
studying this and practicing the application of it can take hundreds
of hours alone, so it certainly is a hobby not for the faint of heart!
